Franz Ferdinand’s Fresh Take on Chappell Roan’s “Good Luck, Babe!”

Chappell Roan’s “Good Luck, Babe!” continues to be the culture phenomenon that has been drawing in listeners with its catchy melody and heartfelt lyrics. Now, the legendary band Franz Ferdinand has added their own unique touch to the hit song, delivering a fresh and invigorating cover.

This release was featured during one of their recent Sofa Sessions for BBC Radio 2 with Jo Whiley. Franz Ferdinand take on the original, twisting the composition into a full blown multi-part affair. So again, it demonstrates another flexibility of Roan’s composition. With this version incorporating their alt-rock touch, the band revamps that familiar song and renders a compelling listening experience.

Frontman Alex Kapranos said, “It’s just an amazing song by an incredible artist. It is funny, you get some artists that have a moment, and it’s often kind of divisive. Some people just adore them, and people don’t like them; that’s the way that things go. But I have not met anybody — nobody I know — whom I know who doesn’t like this artist. He just is so good. It is such an incredible song that we are going to play it.
