England Skipper Balks at Player Withdrawals: “England Ahead of Everything”

Whatever the motives may be, Harry Kane, the captain of England is not happy about the decision of some of the players who withdrawal from the national team. The boy says that it is England first, club commitments second.

Eight players have been ruled out for the Nations League games against Greece and Ireland, and this makes Kane frustrated. The team’s number has reduced because of it, and Kane suggests that some players may have exploited the situation. Kane questioned the seriousness of the players in the national team, as the commitment to represent England seems to have diminished during this international break.

The withdrawals, though, have been marred by criticism from many angles as it seems to be raising questions about the priorities of the players and their willingness to put in for the national team. Then, of course, there is the view that maybe the delay in allowing permanent manager Thomas Tuchel to take over helped create this situation. Premier League clubs seem aghast at the decision by the FA in delaying Tuchel’s start date, which has seen the door open to withdrawals.

Despite the shocks, England has to continue with the quest for success in the Nations League. The remaining players for England must do what the missing ones could not do and hope that they emerge stronger for the coming matches against Greece and Ireland to boost their chances of promotion into League A.
