The couple is said to have their sights set on the rolling hills and quaint villages of the Cotswolds. Sources claim they will be staying put in England once the move is finalized and will not be returning to the States. Further reports indicate that this grand Montecito mansion in California will soon be listed for sale.
The Sun says that Ellen and Portia had already bought a country pad in the Cotswolds back in October before the US election results were known, but Trump’s victory seems to have sealed the deal to get out of the United States, with insiders describing them as “very disillusioned” and eager to “get the hell out.”
The news comes amidst a tide of discontent in certain public figures with the outcome of the elections. Actress and vocal critic Eva Longoria has also hinted at spending more time abroad, dividing her residency between Spain and Mexico for work, although she clarified her decision wasn’t solely due to Trump’s re-election.
Adding fuel to the fire of speculation over their plans, Ellen and Portia have been recently photographed having a good time in the Cotswolds. The duo called by Jeremy Clarkson’s pub, The Farmer’s Dog, where they were photographed with locals. Clarkson’s partner Lisa Hogan posted a video that features the two singing to a pub tune and having drinks on the balcony of the pub. Their marked joviality seemed to confirm the intent to seek a life amidst the idyllic English countryside.
Ellen, a prominent figure in American television and a former supporter of Vice President Kamala Harris during her political campaigns, appears ready for a change of pace.
