Bad news for their fans as One Direction former member, Zayn Malik comes out to announce the postponement of his tour in America following the untimely death of his close friend, fellow band mate Liam Payne. The two had been cool when they were in the same band that started when they first met each other on The X Factor. It is out that Zayn needs to be away from performances to help him handle the tragic event.
In fact, shocking news is sweeping through both Zayn and the rest of the One Direction family as Liam, 31, died after falling from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where he had gone to meet another former bandmate, Niall Horan, for company. The news sent shockwaves through both Zayn and the rest of the One Direction family. In a heartfelt post, Zayn said that he is not in the right headspace to carry on with the rest of his tour as scheduled.
“Given the heartbreaking loss experienced this week, I have decided to postpone the US leg of the Stairway to the Sky Tour. The dates are being rescheduled for January and I’ll post them as soon as it’s all set in the next few days. Your tickets will remain valid for the new dates. Love you all and thank you for your understanding,” Zayn shared.

When I was some 17-year-old kid coming to you regularly and telling you how much I wanted to go home, you always stood before me with that bright smile and reminded me you were my friend and that I was loved. Though you were younger than me, you were more sensible than most people I’ve met, headstrong, opinionated, and the first one to call people out when they were wrong.
This was the deepest that Zayn could have done without revealing their closeness; theirs had its share of tension, but always mutual. “Even though we butted heads because of this a few times, I always secretly respected you for it. When it came to the music, Liam, you were the most qualified in every sense. I knew nothing in comparison—I was a novice child with no experience and you were already a professional.”
He also mentioned how Liam’s great knowledge of music often served as an anchor for the group. “I was always glad to know, no matter what happened on stage, we could always rely on you to know which way to steer the ship next. I lost a brother when you left us and can’t explain to you what I’d give to just give you a hug one last time and say goodbye to you properly and tell you that I loved and respected you dearly.”
Well, the last tribute by Zayn was one by words since he expressed the deep sorrow he feels at losing such a cool guy, which has been echoed by fans and friends around the world. “I will carry all the memories with you in my heart for life; there are no words at all to justify or explain how I’m feeling right now, other than beyond devastated.
