Tottenham’s Comeback Win Forces West Ham Back to Square One

A nail-biting second half comeback from Tottenham Hotspur turned what had been a disappointing game on its head in securing a thrilling 4-1 victory over West Ham United at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Mohammed Kudus gave the Hammers the perfect start but Spurs ended their season on a high note with needed win. It is just what Tottenham will welcome in the wake of recent problems.

Both teams came out well in the match. Chances were now coming for both teams. However, it was West Ham who scored the first goal by Kudus in a well-worked move. This really dealt a severe blow to Tottenham, as they were performing so well till this goal came.

Spurs were shocked and still advancing, though they were a goal down. They had some amazing opportunities to equalize the score but failed to capitalize on them. The home team fans were becoming anxious as the half ended.

Tottenham kicked off the second half on a similar pattern as that of the first half where both teams were creating opportunities; in this case, however, it was Tottenham who came out victorious. An excellent goal from Dejan Kulusevski leveled the match to the delight of the home supporters.

From then on, Spurs were absolutely in control of the proceedings. No sooner had a minute passed, than three quick goals had sealed the game all but for Tottenham. They started with Yves Bissouma then an own goal from Alphonse Areola followed almost immediately by Heung-min Son ensured the game was sealed for good for Spurs.

West Ham was left dazed by the way Tottenham came back and could do nothing but watch what would come next. The Hammers were reduced further to 10 men late in the game when Mohammed Kudus was given his marching orders.
The win marked a great triumph for Tottenham for the season after being behind form for quite some time but showed in this match that they still have much to offer.

  • Mohammed Kudus scores to give West Ham the lead in the 18th minute.
  • Dejan Kulusevski scores an exceptional goal to get Tottenham back into the match in the second half.
  • Tottenham scores three goals consecutively, and turns the onus of the match around.
  • Mohammed Kudus is sent off late into the game.
