John McGinn on Jhon Duran’s Passion and Potential

Aston Villa’s John McGinn spoke out about his teammate, Jhon Duran, who flared up with anger after he was replaced immediately after netting a goal against Bologna in the Champions League. Even though Duran’s reaction is all over the headlines, what McGinn shared was actually the undiluted passion and hunger behind his young forward’s pieces of actions.

Duran, who has played a crucial role during Villa’s superb start to its Champions League campaign, once again found the net against Bologna but his gleeful moment was short-lived as he was brought off shortly after scoring. The Colombian was frustrated so much that he ventilated his disappointment by shouting on the bench.

According to McGinn, it was just a reflection of Duran’s craving to contribute more into the team. “I think he just wanted to play more,” McGinn explained. “He wasn’t doing it in a bad way. He was just saying he was enjoying it and wanted another 10 minutes.”

McGinn hailed the type of character Duran, adding that “he is infectious and full of enthusiasm”.
“He’s so focused, and he looks like he’s really enjoying his football. He’s got great humour and has really come out of his shell”.
The midfielder also thinks the bright skies await for Duran: “the sky’s the limit” for him.

While Duran’s outburst certainly raised several eyebrows, his passion and drive to do great things are there for all to see. As Villa push forward in both the Champions League and the Premier League, one should expect that Duran’s efforts play an important role in any success the team achieves.
