The talented 42-year-old actor has revealed his secret technique of not being seen in public and gives insights into his peaceful family life. He lives in London with his wife of ten years, Hannah Bagshawe, 41, and their two children: Iris, eight, and Luke, six.
Despite his attempts to lead an ordinary life, he reveals that sometimes it gets tough to move within the city incognito. For this, he has simply learned to do one thing: never look back. He pointed out, “I know people who withdraw from everyday life, but I live in London and drive round like everybody else. I sometimes get stopped to be photographed, but the option was to go everywhere in the car, which would cost an arm and leg, not to mention your whole day. You have two options: either put bars all over or just batter the window. I can go to work completely normally so long as I don’t meet anybody’s eye. It is only when I make eye contact that anyone then realizes who I am. For me, that isn’t what fame means at all.”
This helps Eddie lead a rather normal life with his family. His daughter Iris is currently learning how to play the guitar due to her appreciation for Taylor Swift.
It can be traced back to 2000, where Eddie met his long-time girlfriend, Hannah. He met her during his term at Eton College in order to participate in the charity fashion show. He became friends with her gradually, which eventually made him become her boyfriend in January 2012 after he invited her to join him for a trip to Florence over the break on the set of Les Miserables filming. The couple is still an item and got engaged back in June 2014 but could marry later in the same year, December in a fairytale wedding at Babington House.
He is also acting in “The Day Of The Jackal,” a film adaptation of Frederick Forsythe’s novel. In the series, which premiered on Sky Atlantic and NOW on November 7, Redmayne plays the role of the Jackal, who is a highly dangerous and elusive assassin, with a manhunt on to catch him. In an IMDB synopsis of the character, he has a living making hits at the highest fee. His acting in the title will make him pocket a cool £10 million.
Eddie has so far managed to maintain both the professional and personal life. He keeps the family from the limelight but also continues with his work. Balancing this, Eddie has a certain way of becoming incognito, that is, of not attracting attention by refraining from eye contact. This therefore allows him to live as normally as anybody else even though he has been so famous.
