Eamonn Holmes appears to be moving on with his life after the split with wife Ruth Langsford. The GB News presenter was spotted enjoying a lavished weekend getaway with his new girlfriend, Katie Alexander, at a friend’s wedding in Essex on Saturday.
The 64-year-old broadcaster seemed besotted as he posed for pictures with Katie, 42, who is a relationship counsellor. Katie was looking stunning in a strapless black gown with a white corsage, while Eamonn opted for a blue classic suit.
Such a trip is the latest progression of romance between Eamonn and Katie. Reports separately confirmed over the weekend are that the two have indeed been officially dating for several months now, with things seeming to get more and more serious. Sources close to the actors have recently reported that a luxury cruise was able to bond the couple better, with Katie calling Eamonn her “soulmate.”
According to an insider who is close to the couple, “Katie is totally besotted and head over heels. They have been friends for nine years so it’s not a holiday romance. She’s in for the long haul.” The same source had more to say on Eamonn and Katie’s plans: “They are trying to find a bigger place to live together.”.
Eamonn’s good fortune comes at a good time after phases of struggle in his private life. He has been battling health problems for the past two years and had a double hip replacement all the way back in 2016, followed by another surgery that left him needing a wheelchair due to damage caused. In January, he fell on his shoulder.
After these health battles, Eamonn and Ruth announced last year that they would be separating, bringing to an end their marriage, which was 14 years old, but was collectively 27 years of marriage. While Ruth made hints that she was ready to be on the move too, the divorce was not entirely without a glitch.
Despite all complications, Eamonn seems determined to look forward to the future with Katie. The attachment was also apparently depicted by their showing up at the wedding, an act which shows commitment and a real desire to build a life together.
