Danny Dyer’s Hostile Neighbors Made Him Relocate

Danny Dyer has admitted how the problems his family had been faced with by the neighbors were what made them leave home. The 47-year-old EastEnders star recalled moving to a four-bedroomed house in Essex with wife Joanne and their children, when he was subjected to hostility by those next door.

The situation quickly escalated after they moved. According to Danny, the neighbors seemed to resent him for choosing to live in their area. This shows resentment by disturbing actions such as throwing eggs at his house and hurling vodka bottles and other objects at his property, making it increasingly difficult for the family to stay.

Speaking on the Off Menu podcast, Danny said: “When I moved in, people were milling around saying, ‘What are you doing moving around here?’ They thought I was a multi-millionaire, but I wasn’t. It was a big step up for us, a four-bedroom house. But I’d wake up some days and there’d be eggs thrown at my house, which was weird. People resented me for moving in around there.”

The harassment didn’t stop with eggs. Danny described how it escalated, saying, “Then it started to get a bit more naughty, and they started chucking vodka bottles and s. I don’t know what the f I’d done, but it was my character in EastEnders they didn’t like. It must have been.”

With this continuing and hostile attitude, the family had to move. In an interview about the relocation, he stated with a grin, “We moved to where we live now, which is lovely.”

Danny Dyer is a proud father of three children: Dani, 28; Sunnie, 17; and Arty, whom he shares with wife Joanne. The commitment of the actor to his family and their wellbeing was manifest in his decision to relocate.

Other news is that Danny has been speaking well about his recent work in the Disney+ adaptation of Jilly Cooper’s 1988 novel Rivals. The series focuses on the rivalry of television production by setting it in 1986. Danny portrays the role of electronics businessman Freddie Jones, whose performance has got many talking and stating their admiration for his work.

Fans took to social media talking highly of Danny’s work. Comments on X hailed this performance: “Danny Dyer is so much fun to watch in #Rivals, more of this please, don’t waste him on soaps or football factories.” Another fan responded, “It’s taken me three episodes to realize who Danny Dyer is playing; he is that good #Rivals.” The thumbs up continued as people sang praises for the warmth as well as the nuance he brought to his role.

A steamy affairs-and-star-crossed-yearnings eight-parter series, based on Dame Jilly’s raunchy 1988 novel, is based on a series of parties and luncheons at Lord Baddingham’s country estate. The book had sold over a million copies and was a bestseller. And here’s what Dame Jilly says about the cast: “I’m utterly enchanted to be able to announce our all-star line-up for Rivals.”

His fans are very happy with the performance of Danny in Rivals, and many call for him to take more substantial roles beyond his soap opera and film career. Success of the show and his role in it has reassured his talent and versatility and proved that he is much more than just a soap star.

Despite his terror at having his former neighbors, Danny Dyer remains successful not only in his personal but also in his professional life. His commitment to his family and his craft is without question, and recent successes testify to his resilience and talent.
