Actor Chris Hemsworth is reportedly in talks to star in a new live-action film playing as Disney’s Prince Charming to be directed by Paul King. Known for versatility, Hemsworth has also demonstrated his acting range-from being a warlord Dementus in Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga to playing God of Thunder in Marvel Cinematic Universe. His portfolio also boasts voicing Optimus Prime in Transformers One and Kevin in the 2016 reboot of Ghostbusters. This time he is reportedly going to don the shoes of one of the Disney’s most iconic royal suitors.
This is a new project; it was confirmed to be in development just last week. To that, King has teamed up with regular writing partners Simon Farnaby and Jon Croker to give a new vantage on Prince Charming, a character often regarded as one of the most famous yet simplistic figures in cinema and literature. Details of the plot are scarce, but it is reported that this film will not directly connect the prince to Cinderella, the fairy tale with which he is so closely associated. Fans expect Hemsworth to be better than with whom we have grown used and hope that in this portrayal of the much-loved character, they will find something more dimensional and interesting than, for example, Chris Pine’s performance in Into the Woods, which hit the theaters back in 2016.
These news about the Prince Charming film arrive as Hemsworth gets busy.
