Actors Channing Tatum and Zoë Kravitz have ended their three-year engagement. This follows as the two remain engaged in a play they’re producing, Blink Twice.
The Batman star and Magic Mike actor’s relationship was based on creativity. Kravitz said how much she enjoyed working with Tatum, saying, “Art is our love language.” She said she also loved being able to share this with him, stating to PEOPLE, “I think it’s what we love, and we love talking about it, and experiencing it, and supporting each other.”
Tatum was equally forthright in admitting admiration for common creative work, with hints that it feels deeply satisfying to work with a lover. Speaking to PEOPLE in July, he implied couples should take on the challenges together. “This is what I’ll say about creating with someone that you are with or love: I suggest it,” he added. “If you are thinking of having a child or getting married, go out and find the most difficult creative project you can do with your spouse.”
It is reassuring and inspiring at the same time. When you can look across the room or set and know that you have the best person next to you trying to solve problems and really looking to them for answers just as equally as trying to solve them yourself, that is unbelievable,” he added.
Their split is going to come as a shock to fans who appreciated the way they spoke about each other, especially when they continued to be committed to creative collaborations.
