Lauren Pisciotta, a former assistant to the famous rapper Kanye West, accused him of drugging and raping her at a party hosted by Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs. The detail in the lawsuit, filed June 2024, has sent shockwaves through the music industry.
Pisciotta is an influencer, former OnlyFans celebrity, who was employed for West from 2021 to 2022. In this case, she creates an image of a man, whom she accuses had sexually harassed and stalked her during her employment with him, but also had committed a horrible crime against her when she was much younger.
The most serious allegation in the lawsuit is that West drugged and raped Pisciotta at a party in Santa Monica. She claims this occurred years before she began working for him and that West confessed to the crime while the two were finalizing their split.
According to Pisciotta, she met West when he invited her musician client to a studio session and party. It is at the party where West reportedly forced everyone to drink, handing Pisciotta a drink in the process. After a few sips of drinking, she claims to have become extremely disoriented and lost her powers over her body and speech. The next day, she woke up feeling ashamed, embarrassed, and unable to remember the events of the previous night.
Pisciotta’s suit claims she learned of the affair from West himself. She said that just before he dismissed her last November, West made a comment that indicated he and his then-partner were carrying on an affair with her. Pisciotta wanted to explain the circumstances but was barred from the floor by West, who purportedly told the assembly that he indeed attacked Pisciotta but that her lack of memory was a normal condition among women.
The charges against West are considerably serious and have received much condemnation. If true, they would reflect a gross violation of Pisciotta’s trust and her bodily integrity.
The world is going to wait and see how West responds to these allegations as the legal proceedings move forward. The verdict in this case could spell disaster for not only West but the conversation of sexual assault and accountability within the entertainment industry at large.
