Zoe Ball has been transformed to a differing lifestyle, although it’s said the presenter moved from her Sussex mansion to a townhouse closer to her ex-husband, Norman Cook, aka DJ Fatboy Slim. Buying her spread six-bedroom estate in 2020 complete with a swimming pool, tennis courts, and substantial grounds, the 53-year-old DJ has decided on a change of direction and opted for property between Brighton and Hove.

Apparently, moving out seems a way out for Zoe since she is striving to get closer with her ex-husband with whom she shares two children, Woody, 24, and Nelly, 14. It is after divorcing her husband last year in 2020 that they were co-parenting their kids. “Zoe obviously got fed up with life in the country and wanted to move to somewhere a bit more lively,” said a source.
Since the decision, Zoe has been fully immersed in developing her new home. She is said to have spent her time ordering furniture and personal touches to go exactly as she wanted it. Wherever her former Sussex home was peaceful countryside living, this move to Brighton sets her in for a bustling, more urban environment-a kind of change that seems to fit the stage of life she’s at.
This step also occurred at a really dramatic point of a personal nature for Zoe, who separated last year from then boyfriend Michael Reed following five and a half years of relationship. From what is known, Zoe wanted to leave everything behind and start anew after separating from Michael Reed.
Her old property, £2,025,000 purchased, has already gone; now it is all about the new townhouse.
Zoe has been dating with Norman for decades. They got engaged at the end of the 1990s and then got married in 1999. They both have a son, Woody, born in 2000, and then their daughter Nelly was born in 2010. However the two are currently separated since 2020; they’re still close and spend lots of time with their kids together. They were recently spotted at Hove, where they are supposedly having dinner at a local café over a meal with friends and family. Fans were in high spirits over the appearance of the family, especially since Zoe had not been present on the BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show recently.
Zoe’s disappearance from the show has piqued fans’ anxiety since August 8 was the last time she was on air. Gossip about her wellbeing went rampant, but a picture or two of her taken along with Norman and their children sets all rumors to rest. In an exclusive interview with MailOnline, her son Woody revealed his happiness at seeing his mother smile again, especially since a challenging period that involved the loss of Zoe’s own mother to cancer earlier in the year. “My mum and I like to keep our private lives to ourselves,” said Woody. “But I have to say, I’ve spent a lot more time with her lately, and she has always been there for me in the tough times. She’s certainly smiling a lot more than she used to.”
This public outing comes after various speculations and sentiments for weeks since her fans aired their issues on social media amid rumors that she had disappeared from the airwaves. She has been such a legendary figure on BBC Radio 2, and quite a number of listeners were keen on getting feedback about her possible return. Her son’s reassurances coupled with pictures sharing time with family alleviated the feelings of the followers.
Zoey often shares glimpses into her family life on social media, through photos of her children and co-parenting moments with Norman. That being said, the ex-couple has maintained a respectful and supportive relationship, which has enabled them to continue supporting the children.
As she gets set up in Brighton, it already becomes easy to envision that Zoe will be busy painting a vibrant, cheerful color for herself and the family. It was showing readiness to leave the relatively isolated countryside with its stark loneliness for the energetic atmosphere of Brighton. Her fans and followers cannot but be happy to see Zoe move forward into the fray, surrounded by the people she loves most in the world.
So, so far, Zoe is taking her time and enjoying the process of making this transition her new home, taking it just the way she wants it to be and continuing to nurture that close bond with her children and ex-husband.
