Vodka-Fueled Flip: Midnight Car Crash

A 35-year-old mum named Breeze Allman found herself in a tough spot after a night out turned into a chaotic crash. Allman, from Blurton, had been drinking vodka and wine before getting behind the wheel of her car. What followed was a dramatic accident that ended with her car flipped upside down after hitting a parked van.

It was just before midnight on August 16 when Breeze’s car, a Seat, overturned in The Lea, Trentham. The crash happened when she clipped the side of a parked van, causing her car to flip onto its roof. In a panic, she managed to crawl out of the vehicle through a window. Luckily, she wasn’t hurt, and there was no one else in the car with her.

How It All Went Down

Before the crash, Breeze had been at her mum’s house after leaving her job at The Park Inn pub. She had a vodka and lime at work and later drank two glasses of wine with her mum while helping her sister prepare for a party. Even though she had been drinking, Breeze made the poor decision to drive home. That choice led to a scary accident she surely wishes she could undo.

After the crash, the police were called to the scene. Someone reported seeing a car upside down and a woman climbing out of it. When officers arrived, they found Breeze standing near the flipped car, and they immediately suspected that alcohol was involved. She was given a breath test, and the results weren’t good. Breeze had 86 micrograms of alcohol in 100 milliliters of breath, more than twice the legal limit of 35 micrograms. This led to her immediate arrest for drink-driving.

What the Court Heard

The case was brought to North Staffordshire Justice Centre, where prosecutor Emma Thompson described how the crash happened. Thompson explained that Breeze admitted to driving after drinking too much. She also shared how Breeze clipped the van, causing her car to flip.

Breeze pleaded guilty to drink-driving, and she didn’t try to hide anything. She owned up to her actions right away, admitting she had made a huge mistake. Although she was very lucky not to have been injured or hurt anyone else, she now faces the consequences of her actions.

The Aftermath

While speaking to the court, Breeze’s lawyer, Garath Davies, tried to explain why she made the decision to drive. He shared that Breeze had no prior convictions and that she had just been trying to help her family. After finishing work, she went to her mum’s house to help her sister prepare food for a party. They drank some wine together, and she didn’t think twice before getting into her car. Unfortunately, that simple decision ended up turning into a nightmare.

The Seriousness of Drink-Driving

Drink-driving is incredibly dangerous, and Breeze’s case serves as a reminder of what can happen when people make bad choices after drinking. Alcohol impairs judgment, reaction times, and coordination, making it much more likely for accidents to happen. In Breeze’s case, she was lucky that the worst thing to happen was flipping her own car. But it could have been so much worse. People can lose their lives or seriously hurt others because of drink-driving.

When you drink and drive, you not only put your own life at risk but also the lives of everyone else on the road. It’s a serious offense for a reason, and even a small amount of alcohol can affect your ability to drive safely. That’s why the legal limit is set so low. It’s always better to be safe than sorry—if you’ve been drinking, don’t drive. Find another way to get home, whether it’s a taxi, a lift from a friend, or just walking.

Lessons to Learn

Breeze’s story is one of regret, and it’s a lesson for everyone. The choices you make after drinking can have big consequences, not just for yourself but for others too. Allman will now face the legal consequences of her actions, which could include fines, a driving ban, or even a prison sentence.

For people like Breeze, who don’t have any previous convictions, this kind of mistake can be even more devastating. A clean record is something many people work hard to keep, and one bad choice can wipe it all away. But the most important thing is that Breeze didn’t hurt herself or anyone else in the crash. She was very fortunate, and hopefully, she’ll learn from this experience and never make the same mistake again.

Drive Safe, Stay Safe

Let Breeze’s story be a reminder: if you’ve had a drink, it’s just not worth it to drive. Alcohol impairs your ability to think clearly and react quickly, and even if you think you’re okay, you might not be. Stay safe and keep others safe by never getting behind the wheel after drinking. Take the time to plan a safe way home if you’re going to have a drink, and remember that it’s better to be late or inconvenience yourself than to put lives at risk.

So next time you’re out, think before you drink and drive. It only takes one moment for everything to go wrong. Stay safe, and make smart choices.
