A loved host of “Sort Your Life Out” and a frequent face on “Loose Women,” Stacey Solomon has long been a known figure on British telly. Recently, she made it public that she is shifting focus more toward her family as she slows down from the busy pace of her career. The news came after she recently took home the NTA National Television Award for Just This Month.
In an emotional online post, the 37-year-old revealed that she will be stepping down as a brand ambassador for fast-fashion company InTheStyle, hinting that this is likely only the beginning of a withdrawal from commitments. She flashed back to her time with the company since her joining in 2021 and thanked the brand for an amazing time. “Today has been a fantastic yet emotional day as I shot my LAST EVER collection for InTheStyle. I have loved every single second of being able to design & create clothing with the most incredible team and literally bring my dreams to life,” she posted.
This year has been the most significant for Stacey as she reassessed her priorities. “Throughout this year I have thought a lot about work/family balance and things that needed to be prioritized,” she noted. Other ventures she engaged with include the fact that she resigned from working with InTheStyle. “I can give more of myself back to my family,” she emphasized, talking about why she stepped out.
She is a single mother of five, and three of them she has with her husband Joe Swash. Her days with their first son were when she was only 17 as she gave birth to Zachary. Four years after that, from her previous relationship, she had Leighton. Last year was when she and Joe kept it as their first child who came into the picture with Rex, then last year’s second daughter in 2020, and finally in 2022, their youngest, Belle, who is one year old.
While leaving InTheStyle, Stacey promised to give her followers something special with her final collection. “We wanted to end on a high, so this last collection has every bit of love we could possibly give it, and it only felt right to end it in my favourite season,” she said, showing devotedness in leaving behind a legacy in her fashion feats.
Alongside working with InTheStyle, Stacey has become a successful business partner for a haircare brand named Rehab and even has her own range of homewear, sold in Asda’s George department. She is very active with her fans and often participates in a monthly newsletter recounting tidbits about her family life, not to mention DIY and renovation work from her lovely home, Pickle Cottage.
Stacey is the new sensation of BBC with “Sort Your Life Out,” where she gets families to declutter and revamp a living space. The show won Best Factual Entertainment at the National Television Awards, and she went into the Best Presenter category. She reflected on this achievement as one of pride and gratitude. “I’m so proud of myself and the entire @sortyourlifeout team who deserve this so so much. None of us expected this. I AM SO SO GRATEFUL to every single one of you who voted.”
The decision by Stacey to change gear to family life was one that many of her fans truly appreciated and found relevance in introducing the battles that have to be faced when there is both career aspiration and motherhood demands. Her new journey was the epitome of personal fulfillment and priorities, striking many into considering work-life balance. And when she steps out in this new journey, no doubt that warmth and creativity will surely manifest in everything she touches.
