Seeing through the Amazon Series, Prince Andrew’s closest friend talks of his emotional struggle.

The Duke of York is said to be “deeply troubled” ahead of a new Amazon series to be released, named A Very Royal Scandal. The three-part drama which premiered today is going to detail the events leading up to Prince Andrew’s public downfall. It is the second major production to dramatize the infamous 2019 BBC Newsnight interview, in which Prince Andrew was interviewed by Emily Maitlis- she’ll be portrayed by Ruth Wilson-and in which he made several statements that proved disastrous.

The show covered Andrew’s scandal with Jeffrey Epstein and Virginia Giuffre. One of his friends told the Daily Beast, quoting the prince as being “depressed” as the film date neared. “He insists he has no memory of meeting Giuffre and denies all charges,” the friend explained. “Though he acknowledges he made some serious mistakes, he claims he has never been convicted of anything.”

The buddy was frustrated as well with the ongoing scrutiny of the prince. “Andrew has given up his titles of HRH and military roles, as well as his public duties, without much complaint. But there is this nagging sense of, ‘how long does the punishment last?’

The other victim of the renewed attention is Andrew’s family. Ex-wife Sarah Ferguson and daughters Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie are all queuing to get a break from the rekindled criticism. “Imagine being in their shoes,” said a pal. “This show will definitely sully their father’s reputation even more. And any move to defend him may just blow up in their faces.”

The confidante to Princess Beatrice then echoed similar feelings with, “There’s really no way to paint any of this in a positive light. It’s a difficult time for the whole family, but the girls are doing their best to carry on with their lives.”

This is the new Amazon series months after Netflix released its Scoop that told the same scandal with Rufus Sewell in the role of Prince Andrew. A former royal staff member said that the difference between the two productions is some who thought the Netflix version was easy on Andrew, but seems not to pull any punches on this new one.
