Liam Gallagher Voices Opinion over Oasis Fans’ Decision to Sell Tickets after Wembley Gig

Former Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher has taken to social media to fire back after fans trashed his recent show at Wembley Stadium. He played his concert on Saturday night, preceding the Anthony Joshua and Daniel Dubois boxing match. While many loved it, for others, it was one of those disappointing nights that possibly made a few people go cold feet over reselling their tickets for the very much hyped Oasis reunion tour of next year.

Not afraid to speak his mind, Gallagher fired back at his detractors with a series of furious tweets. He called those unhappy with his appearance “soft c****,” standing his ground against anyone who criticized the quality of his vocals and the acoustics of the show. Even though the reaction was polarized, played to the Wembley crowd’s energy, all in while calling it the “Wembley vibes” throughout his performance, at his age-the 52-year-old rocker.

In his concert, he played some of Oasis’s classics namely Rock ‘N’ Roll Star, Supersonic, and Cigarettes And Alcohol. Fans enjoyed the live sounds of the anthems they have heard before, it will surely be thrilling for many. The event also generated criticisms on social networking sites after some fans aired their disappointment, especially on Gallagher’s voice.

Kind of glad I missed out on Oasis tickets bc Liam sounds a bit sh***.” Read one tweet from a relieved fan who made the right decision regarding missing out on Oasis tickets. Another posted that “Missing out on Oasis tickets was a blessing that’s painful.” This response was not missed by Gallagher himself, as he went on a full-blown rant in return to those.

If watching this makes you regret spending your money on those Oasis tickets, then probably you shouldn’t have got them in the first place, one fan tweeted, which Gallagher responded to positively. He remains in good spirits as he traded blows with his fans and critics, never showing any hint of regret for performing.

The rocker has responded to one particular impassioned address from a fan who was busy going ga-ga over him, quoted as saying, “Coolist fer in Wembley last night Rasta. F them c* who’ve got their ears stapled to their arseholes. It’s not a fing Jason Donovan gig, it’s RnR.” Gallagher retorts just as bluntly: “Exactly what do they think this is? A fing pop concert? Soft cs can’t handle the punk rock vibes.

Having had his fill of venting, he then tweeted: “F* them p* hose,” responding to a fan who described his performance as “fing BIBLICAL.” Gallagher was never one for patience when the patrons didn’t see his magnificence, as evidenced when another asked him how it made him feel to hear people complaining about his vocals. His response? “F* them sp**kbubbles.”

The performance at Wembley was just Gallagher’s seventh solo show to date, and the brothers will soon stage highly anticipated reunion shows. The last time the Gallagher brothers took to the stage together was in August 2009 at V Festival in Staffordshire. Shortly after that, Noel left Oasis due to irreconcilable differences with Liam following an altercation at the Rock en Seine festival in France. This long-running feud between these siblings resulted in Oasis’s dissolution and thus, the wait for the newly styled reunion tour has been one of the most talked about days in all of these music fan’s lives.

But despite the vast sea of 96,000 at Wembley, among them were a string of high-profile celebrities, including former heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, UFC star Conor McGregor, retired boxer Ricky Hatton, and Spice Girl Emma Bunton, who were also there to host Love Island’s Maya Jama. Sticking to type, Gallagher emerged onto the stage in style by proclaiming confidently to the crowd: “yes Wembley vibes in the air,” much to the delight of his adoring crowd.

Despite all the hoo-ha surrounding the Wembley spectacle, Gallagher sent a tantalizing tweet or two on Twitter: only a cameo before he jetted off to Malta for his Liam Gallagher And Friends festival.  His attention now turns to the reunion Oasis tour, which is already sold out over all its dates including the two extra ones added over Wembley following public demand. However, that has not been without controversy.

Fans were shocked to discover that tickets were being sold at astronomical prices on account of Ticketmaster’s dynamic pricing. Tickets had jumped more than double in certain instances and called for outrage and government interventions. Oasis claimed it did not know about the dynamics pricing methodology in use, and Ticketmaster put the blame on the concert organizers. Such an issue has attracted the attention of the UK’s competition watchdog, adding another layer of complexity to the buildup of the tour.

The reunion tour coincides with the 30th anniversary of Oasis’ debut album Definitely Maybe, which recently climbed the UK charts once again, following the release of a deluxe edition. And whereas all that hubbub surrounding the ticket sale and his show may have caused even the hardiest of hearts to weaken, Liam Gallagher has been unmoved. Oasis fans are eagerly awaiting what will likely be one of the most iconic reunions in British rock history.
