The highlight of the week, however, was definitely Harry Kane’s display during his 100th appearance for England. Though the game itself will perhaps soon be relegated to distant memory by events unfolding in its wake, his double strike during the match was nothing short of special. His display on the field came as a far cry from his form at the Euros, showcasing new-found sharpness and confidence.

Meanwhile, Wales has been making waves under Craig Bellamy. Their recent win in what was a relatively eventful match against Montenegro, played in terrible wet and windy conditions, showed just how good a start it has been for them under Bellamy. Elis James gave his view on Wales’ recent performance and their trajectory looking good.

In other news, Ireland continued to lose, while San Marino won for the first time in over two decades-a momentous occasion indeed for this football team.
