Suri Cruise Moves into College Dorm with Mom Katie Holmes as Tom Cruise Films Mission: Impossible

Suri Cruise, 18, is the daughter of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes. Recently, she moved into her dorm at Carnegie Mellon University, and mom was there to see her through this rite of passage. The freshman in college was spotted on the Pittsburgh campus with her mom, who seemed to be helping her get settled as she begins this new chapter of her life. Meanwhile, her father, Tom Cruise, is busy shooting “Mission: Impossible 8” and has been spotted in London since his appearance at the Olympic closing ceremony in Paris.

Suri was casually clad in a white top, paired with oversized jean shorts and white sneakers, and appeared to be in very high spirits as she lugged her travel bag toward her new home. Her mother, “Dawson’s Creek” star Katie Holmes, grinned at her side, similarly casual in a beige short-sleeve button-down shirt, blue jeans, and black leather flats.

It’s a big change for Suri, who will be sharing a dorm room with another student, quite a far cry from the luxury she was used to in her mother’s New York City apartment. Carnegie Mellon University is a private research university that is very reputable and maintains different styles of accommodations. More than likely, Suri will live in one of their traditional dorms, such as Donner House, which accommodates some 240 freshmen.

After helping Suri get settled, Katie was spotted back in New York City, where she continued to show off her easy, breezy style during a casual walk through the park. While Suri gets ready to start classes on August 26, both she and her mother are putting up a cheerful, optimistic front in the face of these changes.
