Our Yorkshire Farm star Clive Owen made a small-screen comeback with the series in support of his son Reuben, entitled Beyond the Yorkshire Farm. It didn’t get off to the best of starts for the spin-off, however, with news from the show as Clive revealed a heartfelt truth.
In the new Channel 5 series, Clive and Reuben have gone into business together following the collapse of his 22-year marriage to Amanda Owen in 2022. Amanda, such a strong lead in ‘Our Yorkshire Farm,’ does not appear in the series.
In preview, Clive spoke about how Reuben had decided to start a digging business upon completion of his apprenticeship. When Reuben asked for his dad’s help, Clive replied “I’m here by your side whenever I’m wanted. And sometimes when I’m not wanted!”
Clive has previously confessed to having handled their separation very badly. He told ITV’s Christine Lampard, “It was amazing and successful, but I handled it very badly. It was such a change in our life, and I made a right mess of things. I had a massive part to play in our relationship ending.”
Clive has since stepped back from public life to give Amanda space. He said, knowing the kind of challenges she faces, his reasons for staying off social media, saying, “It’s a tough time for Amanda now, so I thought it was only right to sort of disappear.”.
Reflecting on the popularity of ‘Our Yorkshire Farm’, Clive shared, “One thing I hear is ‘poor Clive,’ and I don’t think that’s right. Amanda’s plan was to make the farm more secure for the family; it was just amazing and a success. Unfortunately, I didn’t handle it well, and it significantly contributed to our relationship ending.”
