Actress Nicole Kidman shares the reasons why she favours her Subaru over the Lamborghini her country musician husband, Keith Urban, bought her. While Urban had bought her the luxury sports car, she actually prefers a Subaru for practical reasons. In an interview with Victoria Beckham for Vogue Australia, Kidman revealed the surprising reason.
“So there you go. My husband bought me a Lamborghini, but I drive a Subaru and he drives the Lamborghini,” Kidman, 57, said. With an even more wary expression on his face, Beckham seemed to look at Kidman, almost peering based on the words, pulling up into said sports car with scissor doors. Kidman laughed and said, “An SUV, not a sports car,” and that Urban, unlike her, has a need for speed.
One can tell Urban is a car enthusiast. Kidman shared, “He loves fast cars, he loves any cars. That’s his thing.” She likened him to her husband, David Beckham, saying both are quite passionate about cars. “He’s a Queensland boy, came from nothing. It’s the same with David—both built themselves up,” she further said.
Speaking about her 18-year-old marriage to Urban, she confessed how much she cherished their sturdy relationship. She speaks of ambling walks they take every morning with their hands holding each other—some rather simple things in life that only go on to tell a very profound story for the couple. Kidman has sometimes even given her own personal love advice by stating that it’s good to like your partner as well, aside from loving them.
When requested for marital tips, she humbly replied, “Everybody has their own path and their own way – marriage is not easy.” She continued, “I’m just doing my best to be in that place.” Kidman and Urban married in 2006 and have two children, Sunday and Faith. Kidman was also previously married to Tom Cruise, with whom she has two older children, Bella and Connor.
