The fans are readying themselves for an epic cosmic adventure. Just earlier today, a series trailer for one of the most highly anticipated Star Wars series, Skeleton Crew, dropped, and boy. It really was everything that so much of the fandom had hoped for.
At the head of this intergalactic adventure is the much-loved Jude Law, starring as Jod Na Nawood. It was just recently, with much excitement, that this celebrated actor dropped the Star Wars project trailer at the D23 Expo.
Drawing from such timeless coming-of-age films of the 80s as The Goonies and E.T., Skeleton Crew is geared to deliver a classic venture that will not miss a note with young and old alike. Law himself confessed to growing up with Star Wars, so getting the chance to join the iconic franchise was a little like a wish come true.
The series enumerates the exciting journey of four young friends, Ravi Cabot-Conyers, Kyriana Kratter, Robert Timothy Smith, and Ryan Kiera Armstrong, who stumble upon something mysterious on their home planet, mistake it for a lost Jedi temple, and are later hurled across the cosmos in a crashed starship. Taking them on an unplanned galactic odyssey, it pitches them against Law’s character, Nawood, who turns out to be their unlikely guide.
Executive producer Dave Filoni has joked, very lightly, that the targeted audience for the show is mature enough to handle the content similar to Clone Wars, which undoubtedly creates interest among fans looking for something a little new in the Star Wars saga.
It’s got a mix of nostalgia, youthful exuberance, and the infinite frontier of the Star Wars galaxy—Skeleton Crew is going to make waves in the film franchise. But as the series finally makes its way onto our screens later this year, one thing is for sure—the adventure starts now.
