How Snoop Dogg Is Making a Killing at the Paris 2024 Olympics

Snoop Dogg has very fast emerged as one of the stars of the Paris 2024 Olympics. It isn’t hard to see why. The veteran rapper has been turning in some of the most purely enjoyable color commentary across this year’s games—whether he’s sporting full equestrian drag for a dressage event or trading pins with Team USA.

Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr., aka Snoop Dogg, has covered events for the Paris 2024 Olympics as a special correspondent for NBC. If reports are anything to go by, he was heavily compensated for these now-viral Olympic appearances.

Henry L McNamara, a New York-based venture capitalist and Forbes 30-Under-30 honoree, posted on X (née Twitter) over the weekend what Snoop Dogg is reportedly hauling in for his Olympic gig. “Sat next to an NBC exec at dinner,” McNamara wrote on August 4. “He said Snoop gets paid $500,000 a day plus expenses to be here promoting [the] Olympics.”

“From ‘Gin and Juice’ to a few million to be a celebrity at the Olympics—what a world,” he added.

The Grammy-nominated artist flew into Paris ahead of the opening ceremony at the Olympics on July 26, and is due to start covering the games for NBC through to their conclusion on August 11. If McNamara’s information is credible, Snoop Dogg is going to bank a whopping $8 million for his 16-day stint at the Paris 2024 Olympics.

Though the figure is jaw-dropping, many fans felt that Snoop Dogg deserves his paycheck due to all the memorable moments he provided thus far during the games.
“Worth every penny,” one fan chimed in on X. A second user replied to McNamara’s post and responded with, “Worth it! Snoop Dogg is rocking the @Olympics!” A third person reacted, saying, “He is worth 2x that amount. Snoop is America.”

Snoop Dogg made headlines again on Saturday after he was spotted watching the equestrian team dressage event alongside his friend and business partner, Martha Stewart. The two attended the competition dressed in full equestrian attire, complete with riding helmets, jackets, and white pants to match, as well as matching sunglasses. In an interview with Today, Stewart explained that the rapper had invited her to attend the dressage event with him because he is scared of horses.

“Snoop called me, and he knows I love horses,” the 83-year-old cookbook author said. “He’s a little fearful of horses.”

Another such memorable moment was when Snoop Dogg took a private tour of the Loure museum, which he posted on Instagram in a video last week. Wearing full Team USA gear, Snoop strolled through the Paris museum with shades.

“You ever seen Night at the Museum?” he asked in the video, referencing the 2006 comedy film. “Well, tonight you get to go in the museum with Snoop Dogg and we’re finna be snooping around.”

He took a personal tour with one of the Louvre’s guides, offering his own hilarious takes on iconic artworks like Leonardo Da Vinci’s “Mona Lisa” and the “Winged Victory of Samothrace” sculpture.
