Holly Willoughby can’t contain herself as she’s confirmed to return to ITV for reboot of 90s classic game show

Holly Willoughby revealed that she will host the renewed series of a popular 1990s game show for ITV, You Bet!. With Stephen Mulhern, the presenter has already signed up to introduce two special episodes at the end of the year. This would bring the presenting duo back together after working on Ministry of Mayhem about two decades ago.

The two were reunited earlier this year when Willoughby and Mulhern appeared side by side as hosts on Dancing On Ice, when Mulhern joined the ITV show, following Phillip Schofield’s departure. An original incarnation of You Bet! ran for several years until nearly 30 years ago, hosted by Bruce Forsyth, while Matthew Kelly and Darren Day are other previous hosts.

The new You Bet! will still deliver the goods with its challenges and stunts, plus celebrity guests, all in a revised format. Holly told her followers: “So excited to be a part of this iconic game show with the fabulous Stephen Mulhern,” and added, “I’m really looking forward to seeing the astonishing skills on show from the challengers and which of our celebrity panellists can come out on top.”.

Stephen mirrored her excitement, saying he loved the programme as a kid, and he can’t wait to see what amazing skills the contestants will come up with.

Aside from You Bet!, Holly is also going to host Netflix’s real-life competition Bear Hunt and is due to return for another series of Dancing On Ice.

Katie Rawcliffe, ITV’s Head of Entertainment Commissioning, told of the reboot, “You Bet! will be part of an impressive entertainment lineup this autumn, joining some of our biggest and most popular returning shows such as I’m A Celebrity, The Voice, the NTAs, and new series including Password, Romesh Ranganathan’s Parents’ Evening, and Dress to Impress the Nation.”.
