Fulham Increases Bid for Manchester United’s McTominay to £20m

Fulham has made a second bid of around £20 million for Scott McTominay. Manchester United is ready to sell the midfielder, but they are demanding a fee in excess of £25 million to £30 million.

Interest in the Scottish midfielder does not come from Fulham alone, with both Galatasaray and Fenerbahce monitoring proceedings. McTominay has a year remaining on his contract, while the Red Devils have the option to extend for another year.

While Erik ten Hag has been an admirer, with McTominay scoring 10 goals last season, United’s need to sell in order to buy means that their stance is one of being willing to sell him if the price is right. That could prompt Fulham to try and do more.

What is less clear is whether either Fenerbahçe, with José Mourinho as coach, or Galatasaray make a serious bid.

Should McTominay go, then Ten Hag can use Mason Mount to challenge Bruno Fernandes for the No. 10 position. McTominay had played a good number of different roles last season – everything from defensive midfielder to forward.
