Did Taylor Swift Just Hint She’s Backing Kamala Harris for President?

Now, fans are speculating that maybe Taylor Swift is coming out in support of Kamala Harris in the presidential election. The belief came to be after Swift shared her photos from the Warsaw concert on Instagram. Among these pictures, one particular photo attracted everybody’s eyes—a silhouette that looks similar to Kamala Harris, the Democratic Party’s nominee, appearing onstage with Swift.

On her seventh slide, she is playing a guitar, but a shadowy figure in the background some fans believe looks like Harris waving. This set the internet abuzz, with one user commenting, “It really feels like it should be a bigger deal that Taylor Swift left a shadow of Kamala on her Instagram post but I don’t really see anyone talking about it.” Another added, “[Swift] is lowkey endorsing @KamalaHarris on @instagram. No public statement yet, besides this pic.”

However, sources close to Swift have revealed that it might just be one of her backup singers— shadows of whom often appear during her performances. Bolstering this theory is the presence of another picture in the same series that reveals Swift in a yellow dress with another silhouette, which doesn’t seem to be waving and looks rather more organic, like a shadow.

So far, Swift has not openly endorsed anything in her posts. She just showed her enjoyment regarding the Warsaw shows and said she’s looking forward to performing in Vienna.

Knowing Swift’s history of publicly endorsing Democratic nominees and advocating for issues such as women’s rights, LGBTQ+ equality, and gun control, it really isn’t hard to fathom why she may have a greater affinity for Harris. The “Shake It Off” singer openly expressed her disapproval of former President Trump during the 2020 election while outwardly endorsing then-candidate Joe Biden and his running mate at the time, Kamala Harris.

Walz, her new vice presidential pick, joined Harris onstage in Philadelphia for the first time since the announcment Friday evening.
