A New Chapter for Lukaku: Napoli in Steadfast Pursuit of the Belgian Hitman

One of the most prolific strikers to have emerged from Belgium, Romelu Lukaku, is on the threshold of a new chapter in his glistening career. Napoli, the Italian giants, are closing the deal on the Chelsea player in what could turn out to be a massive deal for both player and club alike.

According to reports, the deal could reach as high as £30 million, which will see Lukaku go permanently to Napoli, with a sell-on clause included in the agreement since the club is convinced he will continue in the same light.

Although Lukaku himself looks destined for Napoli, there is still a chance of a deal reciprocating with Victor Osimhen. Chelsea will push for an initial loan for the Nigerian if that opportunity does come their way.

The manager behind Napoli’s interest in Lukaku is none other than Antonio Conte. Having previously worked together at Inter Milan, the Italian tactician has an admiration for the way the Belgian can score goals, where he makes a real difference to his team.

The list of high-end clubs he has played for includes Chelsea, Manchester United, Everton, and Inter Milan. His last spell at Chelsea ended quite miserably, which resulted in his loan moves to Inter Milan and Roma. This does not take away the talent and experience that Lukaku has.

Chelsea’s need to sell Lukaku has been part of a wider policy at the Stamford Bridge outfit to trim their squad. After a summer of heavy signings, which had left them with a bloated roster of over 40 players, it is looking to cut down its squad and offer more opportunities to other players.

If the deal finally gives him Napoli’s jersey, the world of football will keenly be waiting for how he will fare under Conte and also in the competitive Serie A. Having already proven his goalscoring ability and being determined to succeed, Lukaku can make huge waves with Napoli and aid the club in fulfilling their ambitions.
