Ryan Reynolds recently had a laugh about Taylor Swift’s astronomical babysitting rates for his four kids with wife Blake Lively. During an interview with E! News alongside Hugh Jackman, the 47-year-old actor joked about the Grammy-winning singer’s pricey fees. Jackman mentioned Swift’s role as his family’s nanny, to which Reynolds responded with a chuckle, “The cost of that is… ‘cost-prohibitive.'”
Reynolds went on to elaborate humorously, suggesting their accountant might have meant, “‘Cost-insane-what-are-you-doing-I’m-no-longer-your-accountant.'”
Friends for nearly a decade, Reynolds and Lively often appear at Swift’s events. Most recently, they were spotted at Swift’s Eras Tour in Madrid with their daughters James, Inez, and Betty. A TikTok video from the concert showed the family enjoying the performance, with Lively holding Betty and the older girls dancing along. Swift even performed “Betty,” a song from her album “Folklore” that features the names of Reynolds and Lively’s daughters. Lively smiled and pointed to Inez when Swift sang, “You heard the rumors from Inez.”
Earlier in the week, Lively had taken her daughters to another Madrid concert, where Swift gave a special shoutout to them. “I have to say that on Folklore, some of my favorite characters are named James, Inez, and Betty,” Swift announced, a moment that quickly went viral on TikTok.
Swift has previously included the couple’s children in her music. James’ voice can be heard saying “gorgeous” in the opening of Swift’s 2017 track “Gorgeous.” When Swift named the characters in “Betty” after Reynolds and Lively’s kids, the couple hadn’t publicly revealed their youngest daughter’s name yet. Nonetheless, Reynolds expressed that they were honored and trusted Swift implicitly. He shared during a 2021 SiriusXM Town Hall event that it was “pretty damn amazing” to have their kids’ names in Swift’s song.
Reynolds and Lively welcomed their fourth child in February 2023, though they have yet to reveal the baby’s name.
