Primal Scream Gear Up for First Album in Eight Years: “Come Ahead” is Gallus and Compassionate

Calling all Screamadelica fans! Glasgow’s legendary rockers, Primal Scream, are back with their first album in nearly a decade. “Come Ahead,” their 12th studio effort, is set to explode onto the scene this November via BMG.

This hotly anticipated release marks eight years since the band’s last studio album, “Chaosmosis.” Frontman Bobby Gillespie, brimming with excitement, says creating “Come Ahead” felt akin to “making your first record” all over again.

The new album promises to be a scorcher, with Gillespie hinting at themes of internal and external conflict, laced with a thread of compassion. The title itself, “Come Ahead,” is a cheeky Glaswegian term that embodies the city’s indomitable spirit and unwavering confidence. Gillespie describes it with a grin, “It’s a bit gallus, you know?”

This record holds even more significance as it’s the band’s first since the passing of their former keyboard player, Martin Duffy, in late 2022.

Fans can get a taste of “Come Ahead” with the recently premiered single, “Love Insurrection,” which debuted on BBC Radio 6 Music. To celebrate the album’s release, Primal Scream will be hitting the road this October as special guests of rock icon Alice Cooper. The tour includes a string of UK gigs, with stops at Glasgow’s Ovo Hydro, Manchester’s AO Arena, and Leeds’ First Direct Arena.

Mark your calendars, music lovers – Primal Scream is primed to “Come Ahead” and blow you away this November!
