The Smile’s European tour has been canceled due to Radiohead guitarist Jonny Greenwood’s hospitalization. Greenwood, 52, is currently in intensive care following a severe infection.
Greenwood, known for his work as a keyboardist and composer, was on tour with The Smile alongside Radiohead’s Thom Yorke and Sons Of Kemet drummer Tom Skinner. The band announced the cancellation, citing medical advice that Greenwood needs rest after his serious illness.
All ticket holders will receive refunds at the point of purchase. The band expressed their hope for Greenwood’s swift recovery, noting that he is now out of immediate danger and expected to return home soon.
The Smile, who have released two UK top 10 albums, were scheduled to perform in Switzerland, Sweden, Germany, and Poland next month.
