Fans Applaud Jade Thirlwall’s Solo Debut with “Angel of My Dreams”

Jade Thirlwall, known for her time with Little Mix, has just released the music video for her first solo single, “Angel of My Dreams,” and fans are thrilled. The 31-year-old singer is the last of the group to venture into solo work following the band’s hiatus in 2022.

The video, directed by Aube Perrie, showcases Jade’s journey from humble beginnings in South Shields to stardom. It draws inspiration from films like The Fifth Element, Showgirls, and Black Swan, and features home movies of Jade as a child, moments from her time on X Factor, and scenes of her walking down a London street.

Jade shared her excitement and nervousness about the release on social media, calling the song her love/hate letter to the music industry. She explained the choice of location for the video, saying, “We picked that high street because I wanted it to feel really British. It reminded me of South Shields, and although we couldn’t film up north, we found a fitting spot in London.”

The response from fans has been overwhelmingly positive. One fan commented, “Jade Thirlwall is going places with this solo career. I cannot wait to hear more from her.” Another praised the originality of the song, saying, “This doesn’t sound like anything else. So original, so experimental.”

Some fans highlighted Jade’s unique background, with one saying, “She is a POC baddie from Shields, of course she was going to nail her solo debut.” Another fan on YouTube called it “one of the best music debuts of all time,” applauding both the song and the video.

Despite the general praise, not everyone was impressed. One user on Twitter compared it unfavorably to Katy Perry’s recent release, “Woman’s World,” calling Jade’s song one of the worst of the year.

“Angel of My Dreams” is now available, marking a significant step in Jade Thirlwall’s solo career.
