Chelsea’s Major Summer Sale: Up to 12 Players Set to Leave

Chelsea is reportedly preparing for a significant player exodus, with up to 12 members of their squad potentially leaving before the summer transfer window closes. Despite already parting ways with six players, Enzo Maresca’s team still needs to be trimmed down.

Among those who might be sold are Conor Gallagher and Ben Chilwell. Gallagher has been the subject of much speculation, with Tottenham showing a long-standing interest in the young midfielder. Selling Gallagher, an academy graduate, would be financially beneficial for Chelsea, as any transfer fee would be pure profit, helping the club’s accounts look healthier amidst profit and sustainability regulations.

Atletico Madrid has reportedly made two bids for Gallagher, valuing him at £50 million. Additionally, The Sun suggests that Chelsea might approve 11 more departures. Chilwell’s future is uncertain, as his style doesn’t quite align with Maresca’s preferred tactics.

This planned firesale indicates Chelsea’s intent to streamline their squad and possibly bring in new talent that better fits their strategic vision.
