Céline Dion and Lady Gaga Set to Dazzle at Paris Olympics Opening Ceremony

Celine Dion and Lady Gaga are set to grace the stage at the Paris Olympics opening ceremony on Friday. This marks a significant return for Dion, her first performance since announcing her Stiff Person Syndrome diagnosis in 2022.

French journalist Thierry Moreau shared on social media that the two icons have rehearsed a duet of Édith Piaf’s timeless “La Vie en Rose.” Dion is expected to be dressed by Dior for the occasion.

Speculation about Dion’s participation arose after reports surfaced that she was staying at the Royal Monceau Hotel near the Champs-Élysées, coincidentally where Lady Gaga was also staying.

This performance is particularly noteworthy for Dion, who had to cancel her world tour after being diagnosed with Stiff Person Syndrome, a rare neurological condition causing muscle stiffness and painful spasms.

Further fueling the rumors, French sports minister Amélie Oudéa-Castéra mentioned on TF1’s Bonjour show that Dion’s presence in Paris was “not by chance.”

Dion herself hinted at her return by sharing photos from the Louvre Museum, expressing her love for Paris and excitement to be back in the city.

The opening ceremony lineup remains a closely guarded secret, with only French singer Aya Nakamura confirmed. However, in an interview with Vogue France in April, Dion hinted at her determination to make a comeback, likening her preparation to training like an athlete with the goal of seeing the Eiffel Tower once more.
