Bob Dylan to Perform Phone-Free Concerts in Edinburgh

Bob Dylan, the legendary singer-songwriter, will play two shows in Edinburgh as part of his European tour, where the use of mobile phones is strictly prohibited. The 83-year-old icon will take the stage at the Usher Hall on November 5 and 6.

At these concerts, attendees will be required to place their phones in a pouch that automatically locks when inside the venue, ensuring a distraction-free experience. The pouches can be unlocked in designated areas within the venue’s concourse.

Dylan’s tour will also include performances at The Royal Albert Hall in London, as well as shows in Nottingham and Wolverhampton.

Celebrated for his profound impact on music and culture, Dylan has won 10 Grammy Awards and received 38 nominations. His impressive career includes six UK top 10 singles and nine UK number one albums.

Since 2021, Dylan has been touring in support of his 2020 album, Rough and Rowdy Ways, with previous performances in London, Glasgow, and Oxford in 2022. The phone ban has been a consistent feature throughout this tour, creating a unique concert atmosphere.

Dylan’s musical journey began in 1962 with the release of “Mixed-Up Confusion,” which initially did not chart in the UK or US. However, he quickly rose to fame in 1965 with hits like “The Times They Are A-Changin’,” “Subterranean Homesick Blues,” and “Like A Rolling Stone.”

Edinburgh residents and visitors alike are eagerly anticipating these special performances, where they can immerse themselves in Dylan’s timeless music without the distraction of mobile phones.
