Jet2 has announced that it is introducing new flights to Spain from Bournemouth Airport from February 2025, following demand. Holidaymakers will now have additional travel possibilities to some favorite locations, like Tenerife, Lanzarote, and Gran Canaria. It will launch award-winning services and sun destinations.
Jet2 has some fantastic news for all those travel fans out to Spain. The company is increasing its flights from Bournemouth Airport to some of the most popular Spanish holiday spots—Tenerife, Lanzarote, and Gran Canaria—with new services from February 2025. These flights will thus start earlier than planned.
The boss of Jet2, Steve Heapy, made the announcement and said that the response was so good that so many people wanted to fly from Bournemouth Airport that they decided to bring their launch forward. Bournemouth is initially announced to become Jet2’s 12th UK base from April 1, 2025. Thanks to so much interest, they brought the date two months early.
It added that from February 2025, this would increase to three weekly flights to Tenerife: every Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday. Lanzarote will get two weekly flights, on Mondays and Thursdays, while there will be one weekly flight to Gran Canaria every Sunday.
Holidays with Jet2 are also scheduled to take off to other destinations from April 2025, including sunny spots such as the Canary Islands, Balearic Islands, Turkey, Greece, Mainland Spain, Portugal, and Madeira. That will mean a great deal of choice for travelers.
This summer ’25, Jet2 is going to increase the number of weekly flights from Bournemouth Airport to as many as 27. There will be multiple weekly services to Tenerife, Gran Canaria, and Lanzarote; Alicante, Palma, Ibiza, and Menorca; Antalya; Faro; Crete, Corfu, Rhodes, and Zante. Its unique offerings out of Bournemouth Airport include Fuerteventura and Madeira.
According to Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, the response from customers and travel agents is just fantastic. He has said that people are really looking forward to the new flights and holidays from Bournemouth Airport, and because of this high demand, they will now bring the launch date forward.
Steve Gill, Bournemouth Airport’s Managing Director, also said he is excited. “This is fantastic news for passengers. Jet2.com is bringing its flights and holidays forward two months so that these services to the Canary Islands are now operating all year round, giving our local travelers more choice,” he said.
In summary, this earlier-than-scheduled date for Jet2 to begin flying from Bournemouth Airport simply reflects that it is indeed an airline that listens to the heightened holidaymaker demand. There is so much in store in terms of destinations and year-round services.
