Anthony Gordon’s Bike Mishap Becomes a Running Joke in England Camp

During a bike outing at the England camp, Newcastle winger Anthony Gordon became the center of laughter after a minor bike accident. Gordon ended up with a noticeable graze on his chin, a cut on his nose, and a sore wrist after an unexpected tumble over his bike’s handlebars. Though he avoided serious injury, he looked a bit like a school kid who’d taken a fall.

Ezri Konsa, one of Gordon’s teammates, shared that the entire squad has been playfully teasing Gordon. “He’s alright. Just a few grazes and scratches. You’ll see for yourself when he does the press conference on Friday,” Konsa said with a chuckle. He added, “I saw him on the ground with his face all scraped up, and I just burst out laughing. It was quite the sight!”

Konsa described the incident further, recounting how the team was in the middle of a recovery session when the accident occurred. “Some players were ahead of us, and as I was riding down the hill, I saw Ant lying there with his face bloodied. I couldn’t help but laugh, especially since he had his helmet on. That was the main thing.”

Despite the incident, Gordon remains in good spirits and is expected to participate fully in upcoming activities. Konsa even joked about a possible goal celebration. “Knowing Ant, if he scores against Slovakia on Sunday, he might do a bike celebration. It would be hilarious to see.”

The camaraderie and lighthearted teasing have kept the team’s morale high, with everyone looking forward to the next match.
