London faced a critical incident near a Tube station in northeast London, where reports surfaced of a man wielding a sword and attacking members of the public and police officers. The assailant, reportedly armed with a sword, crashed a vehicle into a house on Thurlow Gardens before allegedly stabbing multiple individuals, as reported by police.
The 36-year-old suspect is said to have assaulted members of the public and two police officers before being taken into custody. The Metropolitan Police were alerted to the incident shortly before 7 a.m. Emergency services, including fire and rescue crews and numerous ambulances, swiftly responded to the scene. The current condition of the injured remains undisclosed, and authorities have confirmed that they are not seeking any additional suspects.
In light of the situation, Hainault Tube station in Ilford has been temporarily closed by police as part of their response efforts.
