Who is the first YouTuber?

Jawed Karim is widely known as the first YouTuber. Born on October 28, 1979, Karim is an American software engineer and Internet entrepreneur. He is a co-founder of YouTube and the first person to upload a video to the site.

Karim grew up in Germany and attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science. He then moved to Silicon Valley, where he worked at PayPal. It was during his time at PayPal that he met Chad Hurley and Steve Chen, who would later become his co-founders of YouTube.

Karim and his co-founders started YouTube in February 2005. Karim uploaded the first video to the site on April 23, 2005. Karim’s involvement with YouTube ended in October 2006 when he left the company to pursue other projects. However, he remains an active investor in the company and is a member of its board of directors.
