How many died with Jesus on the cross?

The New Testament narrative of Jesus’ crucifixion tells us that two bandits were crucified with him, one on either side. According to the Gospels, these two criminals were both criminals, guilty of serious crimes, and were being punished for their wrongdoings. The passersby and chief priests mock Jesus for claiming to be the Messiah and yet being unable to save himself, and the two crucified with him join in.

The Gospel of Mark states that the two criminals were crucified with Jesus, one on his right and one on his left. The Gospel of Luke adds that one of the criminals rebuked the other for mocking Jesus. The Gospel of Matthew also mentions that the two criminals reviled Jesus.

The Bible does not give us the names of the two criminals who were crucified with Jesus. However, tradition has it that the criminal on Jesus’ right was named Dismas and the one on his left was named Gestas. The two criminals are sometimes referred to as the “good thief” and the “bad thief”, with Dismas being the good thief and Gestas being the bad thief.

The Bible tells us that the two criminals died with Jesus on the cross. In the Gospel of Luke, Jesus says to the criminal on his right, “Today you will be with me in paradise.” This is the only recorded conversation between Jesus and the two criminals.

The death of Jesus on the cross was a tragedy, but it was also a triumph. Jesus died for the sins of mankind, and in doing so, he conquered death and opened the way to eternal life for all who believe in him. The two criminals who died with Jesus on the cross were also part of this victory.

In conclusion, the New Testament narrative tells us that two criminals were crucified with Jesus, one on either side of him. The Bible does not give us the names of the two criminals, but tradition has it that they were Dismas and Gestas. The Bible also tells us that the two criminals died with Jesus on the cross. Jesus’ death on the cross was a tragedy, but it was also a triumph, and the two criminals who died with him were part of this victory.
