Can God Prevent Evil?
The age-old question of whether God can prevent evil has been asked for centuries. The answer to this question is not simple, as it depends on the interpretation of the concept of free will. If the free will solution is accepted, then God remains all-knowing, all-good, and all-powerful because a free humanity is the cause of evil, not Him, and He cannot restrain evil without violating free will and eliminating the possibility of real relationships anchored in genuine love.
The free will solution to the problem of evil is a philosophical concept that states that God gave humans the ability to choose between good and evil. According to this view, God cannot be held responsible for the evil that humans choose to do because He gave them the freedom to make their own choices. This means that God is not responsible for the evil that exists in the world, but He can still prevent it by influencing people’s choices.
The free will solution is based on the idea that God is all-knowing, all-good, and all-powerful. This means that He knows what is best for us and has the power to bring it about.
