Savitribai Phule (1831–1897) is widely regarded as the best feminist in India. She was a pioneering social reformer who was at the forefront of the women’s emancipation movement in the subcontinent. She is best known for starting the first school for girls in the subcontinent, which opened in 1848. She was a staunch advocate for the education of women and fought for the rights of the oppressed and marginalized in India.

Tarabai Shinde (1850–1910) was another influential feminist in India. She was an activist who wrote the first modern Indian feminist text, Stri Purush Tulana. This text highlighted the discrimination faced by women in India and advocated for their emancipation. She was a vocal critic of the patriarchal society of her time and her work inspired many other feminists in India.

Pandita Ramabai (1858–1922) was another important feminist in India. She was a social reformer who championed the cause of women’s emancipation in British India. She was a strong advocate for the education of women and worked to improve the lives of widows and other marginalized sections of society. She was also a prominent figure in the struggle for women’s rights in India.

All three of these women have made immense contributions to the feminist movement in India. They have been an inspiration to many other feminists in India and their work has helped to shape the feminist movement in the country. They have all been instrumental in the fight for the emancipation of women in India and have helped to create a more equal and just society.
