When Jesus was 12 years old, He made a journey to Jerusalem with His parents to observe the Passover. This was a custom for Jewish families, and Jesus was no exception. After a full day of traveling, Joseph and Mary realized that Jesus was missing. They had assumed He was somewhere in their entourage, but He was nowhere to be found.
After searching for Him for three days, Joseph and Mary found Jesus in the temple. He was sitting among the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions. The teachers were amazed at His understanding and His answers. When Mary asked Him why He had stayed behind, Jesus said, “Did you not know that I must be about My Father’s business?”
The incident in the temple is the only recorded event in Jesus’ life between the ages of 12 and 30. During this time, Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and He was filled with the Spirit of God. He also developed a strong relationship with His Father in Heaven.
At the age of 30, Jesus began His public ministry. He performed many miracles, including healing the sick, raising the dead, and calming storms. He also taught about the Kingdom of God and the importance of loving God and loving others.
Jesus’ ministry lasted for three years. During this time, He faced opposition from the religious leaders of the day. He was arrested, tried, and crucified on a cross. Three days later, He rose from the dead and appeared to His disciples.
After His resurrection, Jesus ascended into Heaven and is now seated at the right hand of God. He is the Savior of the world and the only way to the Father. He is our Advocate and our High Priest.
The story of Jesus’ life is a powerful reminder of God’s love for us. When Jesus was 12 years old, He demonstrated His obedience to His Father. He also showed us the importance of following God’s will and spending time in His presence. We can learn from Jesus’ example and strive to live a life of obedience and faith.
