The big news is that Borussia Dortmund will let striker Niclas Füllkrug leave their pre-season camp to discuss some other club, not yet named. According to reports, the 31-year-old German is one of West Ham United's summer targets in their search for a more solid addition to their attack squad. As such, this means that Füllkrug has left the camp to base his stay in Switzerland, which is Borussia Dortmund's pre-season venue, to join West Ham United.
A post from Dortmund on X confirmed, "Niclas Füllkrug has left training camp in Switzerland on Saturday morning. Borussia Dortmund have allowed the striker to leave for talks with another club."
Füllkrug scored 12 goals in 29 Bundesliga matches last season and appeared for Germany at Euro 2024.
Moreover, Dortmund has loaned Yan Couto from Manchester City on a season-long loan with an option for a permanent deal. The 22-year-old Brazilian right-back, who recently played on loan at La Liga's Girona, was initially permitted by City to join Dortmund's training in Switzerland ahead of the transfer.
It's a dream come true for me. Borussia Dortmund is a really special club. Any child in Brazil knows how big this club is, knows the fans, and the Yellow Wall fascinates them. I just can't wait to wear the BVB jersey for the first time and feel the power and emotion in this great stadium," Couto said.
