NetherRealm Studios has officially unveiled 'Year 2' of Mortal Kombat 1, titled 'Khaos Reigns'. Launching on September 24, 2024, this expansion introduces new story chapters, Kombat Pack 2, and the return of Animalities. The Animality feature will be accessible to all players through a free update.

Previous datamines have proven accurate, with new DLC characters now confirmed as Cyrax, Sektor, Noob Saibot, Ghostface, T-1000, and Conan the Barbarian. The Mortal Kombat characters will be available at launch, with release dates for the guest fighters to be announced later.
