Singer Shawn Mendes has arrived in vibrant Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, ahead of his performance at the legendary Rock in Rio festival this weekend.

Yesterday he arrived at Galeao Airport to a warm welcome from a crowd of eager fans. Shawn arrived in this soccer-mad city dressed casually in a gray tank top and navy sweatpants, exuding a very relaxed air as he made his way through the airport.

Once in his hotel, the singer did not waste one minute before peeling off all his layers and hightailing it to the pool. Joining his friends, Shawn soaked up much sun and showed off his physique, much to the delight of fans who got a glimpse of him.

Shawn's performance at Rock in Rio will therefore be a much-awaited success as it will be his first performance for a number of years. The appearance at the festival also occurs around the time of his self-titled album, which is due to be released in stores on October 18.

Shawn just unleashed the last song off the album, "Nobody Knows," and those fans went crazy over the shirtless appearance he made in the music video that accompanied it. Having been preparing himself for a month now for the trip to Brazil and the album release, it's all coming together and Shawn is perfectly equipped to make an impression both on and off stage.
