JK Rowling, the savior of the world of Harry Potter, does not hesitate to point out inaccuracies when she finds them. She recently took to social media to air her grievances over a particular Harry Potter tour that was reportedly occurring in Edinburgh, Scotland.
J.K. Rowling, who wrote much of the famous Harry Potter books in Edinburgh's quaint cafes, lives herself in Scotland's capital. It then becomes even more understandable why she wants to give this true story.
In a post to her social media network, she didn't mince words: "Today I heard the story of some real nonsense being claimed as fact on a 'Potter tour' of Edinburgh. Now I'm seriously considering hiring a bus, auctioning off seats for charity, and spending an afternoon setting the record straight. We could debunk the myths, share some little-known secrets, and then top it all off with a trip to the pub!"
The nameless tour company offers one of several unofficial Harry Potter tours currently on offer in Edinburgh. Such tours may prove an excellent way for enthusiasts to appreciate the city, but it seems that Rowling has issues with the spread of misinformation.
This is not the only news Rowling has revealed and shared recently on the Harry Potter front. She also hinted that the much-awaited Harry Potter series currently in production will be even better than everyone is expecting.
She said, "It's going to be a faithful adaptation, the new cast and everything." The new series is going to differ from the film in which Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint starred. Francesca Gardiner and Mark Mylod, who created the hit series drama Succession, will make their debut as executive producers.
Absolutely delighted to announce our director and writer! " she tweeted with excitement. "I actually got to interview them both for the production team. Not only are they totally passionate about Harry Potter, but after reading Francesca's pilot script and hearing Mark's vision, I have absolutely no doubt that the TV show will be truly magical."
Where the details of the series remain very much under wraps, Rowling's comments suggest a project that sticks to the main spirit of the book, but with a new look.
Coupled with the soon-to-be-released new series on television, this fan tour is definitely a promised future filled with wonder and excitement for Harry Potter fans. Whether you are an old witch or wizard or just stepping into Diagon Alley for the first time, there's plenty to look forward to in the Harry Potter world.
