Liam Gallagher has responded with typical candor to the outrage over Oasis ticket prices by telling one angry fan to "shut up" and advising others to buy "kneeling tickets" to mitigate high prices.

The outspoken frontman, who recently broke his silence on social media, did so just days after it was announced that the UK's competition watchdog would investigate Ticketmaster's handling of sales for Oasis's imminent tour, including inquiries into the controversial use of "dynamic pricing" that might have led to sudden surges in prices.

There was initial euphoria among fans when news of the brothers' reunion broke, but this rapidly soured into anger after it emerged that ticket prices for the 17 scheduled shows had overrun without notice. Fans who had been patiently sitting in the virtual queues were stunned to find that standing tickets had inflated from £135 to £355.

Liam, never one to resist an opportunity for online stirring, jumped onto X on Friday morning and said, "OASIS are back, you're welcome, and I hear their ATTITUDE STINKS. Good to know some things never change."

When one fan then replied that he was disappointed about how the band had "ripped off" their fans, Gallagher responded simply with "SHUT UP.

Later, when asked how he was feeling about the reunion, the 51-year-old quipped, "SMUG—only kidding, SMUG AS F***. I told you all we were gonna get back together one fine day."

He also made fun of his mother, Peggy, when someone asked him how she felt about the long-awaited reunion. "She's gutted she couldn't get a ticket," he said. When one person asked him why he didn't give her a free pass, he shot back, "Free? Don't be silly."

One fan asked if he had any extra tickets, to which Liam cheekily said, "Shitloads, but they're really expensive—£100,000. Kneeling only."

Oasis released a statement in their defense: "The overwhelming interest in this tour makes it impossible to schedule enough shows to meet public demand. Regarding the well-publicized complaints about Ticketmaster's dynamic ticketing, it's important to note that Oasis leaves ticketing and pricing decisions entirely to our promoters and management. We had no prior knowledge of the dynamic pricing mechanism."

To add to that excitement, Liam Gallagher was just named the face of Stone Island's autumn and winter campaign. Still, while fans are still upset at ticket prices, one of Gallagher's old 2017 tweets just started making the rounds online.
