In a post-match interview, Captain Jos Buttler vowed that England will "evaluate everything" after their semi-final defeat in the T20 World Cup. The defending champions were bowled out for just 103 runs by India in Guyana, leading to a 68-run loss.

This marks the second major title England has relinquished in the past eight months, following their unsuccessful defense of the 50-over World Cup last year. Buttler emphasized the importance of analyzing their performance and strategizing for future tournaments.

"We need to take some time to review this tournament and plan ahead for the next ones," Buttler said. "We have to assess what improvements are necessary—whether it's our playing style, personnel, or overall approach to the game. We will examine everything and devise a new plan."

Having taken over from Eoin Morgan as the white-ball captain in 2022, Buttler led England to victory in the T20 World Cup in Australia later that year. He expressed his desire to continue as captain until the Champions Trophy in Pakistan in February next year.

However, he added, "I’m not thinking too far ahead right now. My focus is on reflecting on today’s loss and reviewing our performance. I haven't planned beyond today."
