Jennifer Lopez recently opened up about her shocking decision to cancel her much-anticipated summer tour, "This Is Me. Live," which was set to hit the road in June 2024. The news came just a month before the tour was scheduled to commence. Fans were devastated, but Lopez now shares why she made that emotional choice.

She went on to reveal how and why her priorities had to shift from work to family and self. "I was so devastated to let anybody down," Lopez said. "But I just needed to be with my kids and myself and really dig down deep into things that were happening in my life."

She felt the emotional drain brought by both of these commitments and realized she had to take time off to focus on herself and family. Yet despite the difficulty, Lopez reflects how this period in her life became the toughest as well as the most transformative time of her life. I'm glad I did it, she said. It was a really difficult time for me, probably the most trying time in my life, but it was also the best because I got to do that work on myself."

Such honest reflection allowed her fans a rare view of the pressures that had been building behind closed doors. The balancing act between international career, motherhood, and personal struggles was all put into play, but this little break helped her to get refocused.

While news of the tour cancellation was heartbreaking to fans, Lopez said she was really thankful for their loyalty during this difficult time. She noted that her fans stood by her with understanding and love. "I have the most understanding and loving fans in the world. Some fan bases can be spicy. Mine are just a bunch of lovers," Lopez said, full of affection for those who had stuck with her during the good times and the not-so-good times.

Fortunately, though, Lopez did not keep fans waiting too long. She released a statement full of emotion, hinting already that she is already plotting her way back to the stage. "I just can't wait to get back out there," she teased, surmising that this hiatus from touring is just a temporary separation. While no official date has been announced yet, at least with what she said already, fans can tell she wants to reconnect with her audience once more in a live setting.

For now, however, all attention is all about the personal journey of Lopez and the promise of a comeback tour has certainly left her fans excited for what is to come.
