Kendrick Lamar, the famous rapper, is making headlines again, but this time it’s not just for his music. He is the face of a huge new Gatorade commercial, and it’s packed with some of the biggest names in sports. The ad features stars like Caitlin Clark, Luka Doncic, Jayson Tatum, A’ja Wilson, and Shedeur Sanders. This is a big deal because it’s the first time Gatorade has ever included a musician in their ads.
The commercial is part of a big marketing campaign by PepsiCo, the company that owns Gatorade. It will first air during the NBA Playoffs, and more ads will come out later during major sports events like the NFL Draft and the MLB All-Star Game. One of the ads, called "Lose More. Win More.", is already on YouTube. In it, Kendrick Lamar speaks while clips of famous athletes play. The ad also looks back at Gatorade’s 60-year history.
Kendrick Lamar has been everywhere lately. He dropped hit songs in 2024 and even won a Grammy in 2025 for his number-one track "Not Like Us." His fame grew even more after he performed at the Super Bowl in February. He’s also worked with big sports brands like Nike, Reebok, and Converse before. But this Gatorade campaign is special because it’s the biggest celebrity ad the company has ever done.
Gatorade’s chief brand officer, Anuj Bhasin, said, "This will be the largest celebrity brand campaign in Gatorade’s history and will be the first time a musician is featured in Gatorade ads."
So, who else is in the commercial? A lot of big sports stars! Some of the names include Lamar Jackson, Josh Allen, Luka Doncic, Jayson Tatum, Caitlin Clark, and A’ja Wilson. But it’s not just current athletes—legends like Michael Jordan and Serena Williams, who have been in Gatorade ads for years, also appear.
During March Madness, younger stars like Paige Bueckers, JuJu Watkins, and Cooper Flagg had their own Gatorade commercial. They might show up in these new ads too.
Gatorade has been around for a long time—since 1965, to be exact. It was invented at the University of Florida. The story goes that an assistant football coach noticed players were losing too much weight from sweating in the hot Florida weather. So, the team’s doctor, Robert Cade, created Gatorade to help players stay hydrated during games and practices.
This new ad campaign is a big moment for both Kendrick Lamar and Gatorade. With so many famous faces, it’s sure to grab everyone’s attention. Whether you’re a fan of music, basketball, football, or just great commercials, this is something you won’t want to miss.
